Fungus Forager

Andrew with a mushtoom

Boletus edulis, Rowfant House (Sussex), 1973.

I gain great satisfaction from going for a ramble in the New Forest in autumn and finding beautiful specimens of edible fungi. Few experiences match the views, tranquillity, colours and scents of a forest in autumn. Fungus foraging is an activity which I inherited from my parents at a very early age - it stems from an ancient family tradition.

Porcelain fungus (Oudemansiella mucida)

Octupus stinkhorn (Clathrus archeri)
